PC, which was acquired by Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. in 2022, has become a key growth driver for the leading full-service restaurant group in the country.

Originally launched as a simple food kiosk in 1990, PC is now renowned for its signature flavored fries and operates in 15 markets globally, partnering with over 800 franchisees.

“Reaching our 2,000th store is a testament to our hard work and the love our guests have for Potato Corner. We are committed to delivering the world’s best flavored fries in every store we open,” Por Fin Trading said.

The new PC XP store features an expanded menu and dedicated merchandising space, offering items like friescream, exclusive flavors and signature beverages. This is the second PC XP store, following the first one opened in July at Glorietta, Makati.

PC chief operating officer and general manager Joey Alvero said the company’s strong brand equity and attractive business model made it a top choice for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The brand also expanded internationally, recently establishing a presence in Malaysia and strengthening its foothold in China Alvero said PC also launched a new format called PC XP to strengthen the brand’s popularity in the country.

Since its acquisition by SPAVI, PC has increased its network by over 700 stores, with 359 units opening in 2023 alone.

“Potato Corner not only contributes to our growth but also serves as a platform for entrepreneurship. Working with our franchisees, like Por Fin, and witnessing their success gives us a deep sense of accomplishment. We are committed to expanding Potato Corner and supporting our franchise partners to create exceptional guest experiences,” SPAVI president and chief executive Vicente Gregorio said.
