Sigrid Bernardo wins best film pitch for ‘Purple Moon’ at FDCP, DGPI event

Filmmaker Sigrid Bernardo, known for films such as Kita-Kita and Under Parallel Skies, secured the Best Film Pitch award for Purple Moon at the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines, Inc. (DGPI) – Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Film Pitch 2024.

Announced on FDCP’s official social media pages, Bernardo’s project also won several other accolades, including the UXS/UNITEL Prize, Mentorque Productions Prize, Solar Films Prize, Viva Films Prize, and RS Video and Film Production Prize.

Meanwhile, Iti Mapukpukaw director Carl Joseph Papa won first runner-up and received the ABS-CBN International Productions Prize and RS Video and Film Production Prize for Sentinel. Daniel de la Cruz, director of 2D Na Si Tody, took second runner-up along with the UXS/UNITEL Prize, Solar Films Prize, APT Entertainment Prize, GMA Pictures Prize, RS Video and Film Production Prize, and Quantum Film Prize.

The DGPI-FDCP Film Pitch was part of Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) last September, providing a platform for upcoming film projects seeking financing and partnerships.
