A low pressure area (LPA) over the east of Southern Luzon is likely to enter the Philippine area of responsibility and become into a tropical depression to be named “Kristine.”
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was located at 1,395 kilometers east of Southern Luzon or still outside PAR.

The trough of the LPA will affect the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon.
“The LPA has a high chance to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
