The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announced Sunday that Kanlaon Volcano in the Negros Island Region emitted a total of 3,244 tons of sulfur dioxide flux last Saturday.
Additionally, at least 17 volcanic earthquakes and three ashing events were recorded.
Kanlaon Volcano produced a voluminous plume that rose 500 meters and drifted southwest.
The volcano’s edifice remains inflated.
According to Phivolcs, volcanic ash was intermittently observed being entrained or expelled following continuous degassing from the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano on Saturday.
Alert Level 2 remains in effect for Kanlaon Volcano due to increased unrest following its explosive eruption on June 3.
