Elements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Davao recently arrested high value illegal drug and rape suspects in three separate law enforcement operations across the region.
According to PNP-Davao, a man allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade alias ‘Armand’ and his female companion known as ‘Inday’ were taken into police custody on Thursday, October 10.
Joint operatives of Davao City Police conducted a drug raid at Purok Bayanihan in Barangay San Miguel, Digos City in Davao del Sur that led to the arrest of the suspects. Seized from their possession were illegal drugs worth P35,000 and a loaded 46-caliber pistol.
Meanwhile, in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, police also arrested a man who was wanted for rape charges. He was identified as alias ‘Gerome,’ a resident of Barangay Magugpo West Tagum.
The 35-year-old had a warrant of arrest issued by presiding Judge Jimmy Bustillo Boco of regional trial court Branch 2. He is facing seven counts of qualified rape, a non-bailable crime.
In Mati, Davao Oriental, a man was also served a warrant of arrest for six counts of rape.
The suspect was reportedly the top 8th most wanted in Mati. He is also now under the custody of Mati after he was apprehended on Wednesday for violations of Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”
