The Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) will revisit in December the economic growth and fiscal targets.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, co-chair of DBCC, said the council will meet in the first week of December to review targets.

The government set a gross domestic product growth target of 6 percent to 7 percent in 2024. The economy grew 5.2 percent in the third quarter and 5.8 percent in the first three quarters, below the full-year target.

“As of now, we’re still confident that we’ll be able to hit our targets. So, we will see. As of now, we’re trying to still keep up the budget. We’ve been releasing the budget,” she said.

Pangandaman said the review might also cover the impact of the US presidential election and the recent weakness of the peso against the US dollar.
