The $30-million cargo terminal supports 36 weekly flights and is considered as one of the largest facilities in the region. It could also increase the company’s sorting capabilities to 9,000 documents and parcels per hour.

FedEx said the facility would reduce delivery time to Northern Luzon by an average of two hours, and would extend the cut-off time for Northern Luzon and Cebu customers.

FedEx vice president for Southeast Asia operations Audrey Cheong expressed gratitude to Clark Development Corp. president and chief executive Manuel Gaerlan for the support in making the milestone happen.

She recognized the efforts of other CDC officers who played a crucial role in making the project a reality through a letter addressed to Gaerlan.

Among those mentioned in the letter are CDC vice president for business development and business enhancement group Rynah Ventura, assistant vice president for business enhancement department Atty. Noelle Mina Meneses and assistant vice president for investment promotions divisions II Rodem Perez.

CDC building and facilities permits division manager Engr. Erwin Bognot, public safety division assistant manager Robin Cenzon and Andrea Gayle Co were also recognized by Cheong.

FedEx’s expansion in the Philippines is part of its long-term development in the Asia-Pacific region which aims to connect people and possibilities in and from the Philippines to the rest of the world.
