Actress Lovi Poe slowly makes a name for herself as an international recording artist with her recently released music video for the summer pop single, “Candy.”
Directed by Jessica Fee, the music video is reminiscent of the early 2000s that expresses a fun and summer feel. Its retro vibes are highlighted through the nostalgic use of a vintage film theme and references of pop culture items like roller skates, disco ball, and crochet articles of clothing.
“Candy” was written by Amanda Lustbader, produced by Grammy Award winner Omen and Kris KeyZ, and released by VIM Entertainment, a record label based in Los Angeles.
Seeing her potential as a household name, many fans have expressed that Lovi reminds them of famous American singer Ariana Grande.
True to her desire to establish herself as a recording artist, Lovi has already released two singles this year namely “Under” and “Lost.”
“Under” was her debut single released in February, marking the launch of her music career outside of the Philippines.
Lovi Poe rose to stardom after her role in the 2006 drama series Bakekang and winning best actress at the 2010 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for her role in Mayohan.
