Almost 300 women, girls and LGBTQI joined Zumbarangay Pilipinas Solo Exercise On-Cam Challenge with video entries of their solo dance performance to the tune of the original exercise music, Igalaw galaw Ating Katawan. Its upbeat track invites everyone to rise up, shape up, and move their bodies to the beat.
The nationwide exercise campaign organized by the Women in Sports of the Philippine Sports Commission received entries from the barangay level across its four categories: Women Frontliner category; Women Open category, LGBTQ category, and kids and young category, which accepted entries from participants aged 6-17 years old, and with parent’s or guardian’s consent.
In the form of a fun-filled contest, the Zumbarangay Pilipinas keeps a row of internationally renowned personalities from the dance, fitness and sports industries.
Judged based on forms and style, movement, vigor and energy, and Philippine cultural and artistry value, qualified barangay-level entries moved on to city/town-level qualifiers, and to provincial, regional and national levels.
