More medical staff want COVID-19 jab

About 86 percent of the medical staff of the Caloocan City Medical Center want to be vaccinated, CCMC Administrator Fernando Santos told Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan after the vaccination rollout last Friday.

From the initial 149 health workers who agreed to be vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine, there are now 395 who want to be vaccinated at the CCMC.

There are a total of 457 health workers. About 105 hospital staff were vaccinated last Friday led by Santos and City Health Officer Evelyn Cuevas.

According to Santos, no adverse effects have been reported on those vaccinated.

The requested additional doses of Sinovac vaccine from the Department of Health are also expected to arrive after it gave its initial 300 doses last Thursday.

Malapitan thanked the doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff who were vaccinated against Covid-19.

“We are pleased because the number of people who want to get vaccinated at CCMC has increased. We hope that everyone will get vaccinated now that they see that the vaccine is safe,” said Oca.
