Four persons on board a training aircraft survived after their plane ditched near the sea wall of Sinunuc Boulevard in Zamboanga City Tuesday morning.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines spokesperson and chief information officer Eric Apolonio said the incident happened at 9:45 a.m. while the plane was conducting a training flight.
He said the aircraft with registry number RP-C834 is owned and operated by Dumaguete-based flying school Royhle Aviation Academy, Inc.
Apolonio said the aircraft, carrying two flight instructors, a student co-pilot, and a mechanic took off Zamboanga Airport at 9:38 a.m. and was about to return to Dumaguete City when the incident happened.
Reports said the four individuals were transferred to safety.
