Angeles improves ’19 tax collection

Angeles City—For the first time in 13 years, this city, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has recorded a budget surplus of P192,961,702.95 for 2019.

This came after the city government's initiative to implement sound fiscal management and intensified collection of business and real property taxes and other local taxes, Lazatin said.

The mayor said the positive revenue collection is evident of the growing confidence of the business sector to the current administration.

He maintained he will not increase business and real property taxes so as not to burden the members of the business sector.

Lazatin said he had reviewed all ordinances that burdened local businessmen.

He said the P20 tourism fee being imposed on hotel guests had been repealed, which gained positive reactions from hotel operators.

Lazatin stressed Angeles will remain a business-friendly city under his watch with continuous dialogues with members of the business sector to get inputs in coming out with city policies.
