The Makati City government has ordered the closure of two more establishments engaged in sex trafficking foreign women.
The city’s Business Permit and Licensing Office closed down 88 Hotel and Master Han Reflexology Spa in Barangay Poblacion last Friday.
According to BPLO, both establishments were being used as prostitution dens.
Police raided the establishments last week after receiving a tip from an informant that the places were allegedly being used for illegal activities.
Rescued during the police operations were 18 Chinese women, one Korean, one Vietnamese, and 11 Filipina massage therapists.
The latest operation brings to more than 10 the number of establishments that were raided and ordered closed on charges of sex trafficking and operating without business permits.
The authorities recently padlocked Moon of Paris KTV, Andy T. Cafe, and Azito Lounge, three establishments occupying different floors of a building at 7373 Bakawan Street in Barangay San Antonio, and arrested a total of 112 individuals, including 75 Filipino KTV workers.
Police received a tip alleging human trafficking operations in these establishments.
The city government also padlocked a hotel in Barangay Pio del Pilar after authorities discovered that the establishment engaged in sex trafficking foreign women.
On orders of Mayor Abigail Binay, BPLO men closed down Golden Dragon Star Premium Hotel for violating Republic Act No. 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 and Section 4A of the Revised Makati Revenue Code or operating without a business permit.
Police raided the establishment and arrested three Chinese national—Kevin Sy, 25; Xiao Lo, 23; and Tong Po, 25.
