AUTHORITIES at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport have intercepted a 52-year-old American national who was caught in possession of three vapes containing liquid cannabis.
The foreigner was about to board an AirSwift flight bound for El Nido, Palawan when she was apprehended by officers from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Police – Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup).
The arrest was made after Security Screening Officers (SSOs) discovered the vapes at the baggage of the suspect during a routine security screening.
The item, initially believed to be a pair of scissors, was noticed on the x-ray monitor, prompting a manual inspection of the bag’s contents.
During the inspection, the SSOs discovered a small tube containing a suspicious liquid. This led to the involvement of the Avsegroup and the PDEA for investigation.
PDEA personnel conducted an inquiry on the passenger and a chemical analysis of the substance, confirming it to be a mixture of ‘HU-210 Cannabidol’.
