Bling meets glamor and class for headturners at GMA Gala 2024
The GMA Gala 2024’s red carpet was graced by numerous celebrities, beauty queens, social media stars, prominent names in business and government, and other famous personalities who flaunted their stylish looks crafted by some of the top designers in the country and the world.
With the theme “Bling,” this year’s edition saw celebrities showcasing their glamorous black-and-white ensembles and sparkling accessories. With around 1,000 guests in attendance for the event’s third edition, we have trimmed down the list to 12 of the most notable looks of the night.
Marian Rivera
Her look literally screamed “Queen!” when she proved once again that less is more. Every step she took on the red carpet exuded regal grace, as she wore a simple yet stunning black fitted gown from Nicole + Felicia Couture. The elegant ensemble was embellished with a cascade of delicate bejeweled roses gracing the neckline. Completing the look was a silver clutch bag from Bottega Veneta.
Barbie Forteza
The petite actress was a vision of “princess glamour” as she walked the red carpet in a white ball gown adorned with delicate flower embroidery. In an interview, she explained that the white ensemble by Mak Tumang “symbolizes the new look of 1947, which celebrated the newfound peace after the war.” The 26-year-old actress will soon appear in a war drama on primetime. What a perfect way to subtly promote a TV series.
Julie Anne San Jose
Her gown was flawless from every angle. The singer and actress wore a custom Michael Cinco creation. The strapless bustier bodice, adorned with intricate latticework, hugged her curves perfectly, while the skirt cascaded down in feather hems, giving the illusion that she glided as she walked. Simple accessories completed the look, striking a perfect balance between sexy and classy.
Rhian Ramos
Stunning in a one-shoulder fitted dress by JustBonita’s Bonita Peñaranda, covered in intricate crystal beads, Rhian was a breathtaking sight as she walked down the red carpet. Her dress shimmered with every step, and her matching Ferragamo stilettos completed the look perfectly.
Bianca Umali
The actress showed that being a head turner at a gala doesn’t always mean wearing a shimmering gown. All eyes were on Bianca in her white gown by Joey Samson, which featured a design similar to the suits commonly worn by men to such functions. The masculine yet feminine ensemble included a halter top with a collar and tie resembling an inner buttoned shirt, and a skirt that resembled a coat.
Lexi Gonzales
The actress is one of the celebrities who would literally make people turn their heads twice with her captivating look that night. Channeling an ethereal, goddess-like appearance, Lexi wore a white one-shoulder dress adorned with a long drape, designed by Bonita Peñaranda. Completing the look were glittery jewelry pieces from Jhaena Jewels.
Dingdong Dantes
Gracing the red carpet with his wife Marian, the simplicity of Dingdong’s classic black suit with a bow tie by Stefano Ricci seemingly amplified the actor’s captivating presence as he completed his look with a pair of black sunglasses.
Michael Sager
GMA’s next big leading man was a charming sight as he walked down the red carpet in a white suit and tie by Ziggy Savella, which also included a matching white scarf with two rectangular boxes. Who else could pull off such attire without looking like they were hosting a circus?
Martin Javier
The host and sportscaster is no stranger to wearing suits, and he’s very consistent with his style. At the gala, he wore a classic black suit and tie with an embroidered decal on the tuxedo’s coat lining. He finished his look with a simple bow tie, and the whole ensemble captured his masculinity.
David Licauco
The actor exuded a “boy-next-door” charm with a touch of maturity. Taking home the award for Best Dressed Male of the night, David stunned in a white coat and undershirt along with a bow tie as well as a pair of black slacks and shoes. On the left side of his coat’s lining is a brooch adorned with flowers.
Kobe Paras
With his towering physique and long locks cascading loosely in a messy man bun, the hardcourt heartthrob transformed into a red carpet hottie as he stole glances (quite literally) and commanded the scene in a sharp, custom black suit by Chynna Mamawal.
Kokoy De Santos
Capping off the list is a unique look from Kokoy which is a black undershirt with a jet-black coat and a streak of white. The entire look was by fashion designer Bang Pineda, who featured Kokoy’s dashing appearance in a short film while also showcasing the life of everyday workers.
The GMA Gala 2024 was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City last July 20. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Kapuso Foundation and the charity organizations that it supports.
