Marcos, Sara ratings up, Martin too in OCTA poll

The trust and performance ratings of President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte improved in the fourth quarter of 2023, based on OCTA Research Group’s Tugon ng Masa nationwide survey released on Tuesday.

The survey saw the President’s trust rating rise to 76 percent, 3 percent higher than the third quarter survey. In terms of performance, his 71% rating is significantly higher than the 65% he recorded last October.

Duterte, on the other hand, gained a 77% trust rating, higher than the 75% she recorded in the third quarter survey. Meanwhile, 3 in 4 adult Filipinos said they are satisfied with her performance, higher than the 70% she scored in Q3 of last year.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Senate President Miguel Zubiri also saw improvements to their satisfaction ratings in the same survey.

Romualdez improved 4 percentage points to 65%, while Zubiri garnered a score of 60% compared to 58% in the last survey.

The TNM poll in the third quarter last year saw a nationwide decline in the trust and performance ratings of Mr. Marcos and Duterte.

The Q4 survey fieldwork was conducted last Dec. 10-14 via face-to-face interviews.

A total of 1,200 male and female probability respondents aged 18 years and above were interviewed for the study.

Mr. Marcos gained his highest trust ratings in the Visayas with 79%, while his lowest trust rating came from Mindanao with 69%.

Duterte saw her highest trust rating in Mindanao at 99%, but dipped significantly in Luzon to 64%.

In terms of performance, Mr. Marcos had the highest satisfaction rating in Balance Luzon (77%), with his lowest in Mindanao (57%).

The Vice President’s satisfaction ratings ranged from 97% in Mindanao to 61% in Luzon.
