President Marcos on Monday ordered the creation of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAPIEA) to ensure effective integration, coordination, and implementation of various government investment and economic policies.
Through Executive Order No. 49, Marcos said the OSAPIEA would be under the Office of the President and it shall be headed by Presidential Adviser on Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick D. Go. The EO stated that the Go, as special adviser, shall serve as chairperson of the Economic Development Group (EDG), while the secretaries of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Department of Finance (DOF) – Arsenio Balisacan and Benjamin Diokno, respectively — will serve as vice chairpersons.
