Police seize illegal oil products in Surigao

Authorities seized an estimated P332,000 worth of illegal petroleum products during an operation in Barangay Mabuhay, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte.

Police Colonel Nilo Texon, Officer-In-Charge of the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, ident fied the three arrested as alias “Rexan,” a fisherman from P-5, Barangay Rizal, Socorro , Surigao del Norte; alias “Patrick”, a laborer from P-2, Barangay Taruc, Socorro; and alias “Austin”, a driver from Purok 8, Barangay Esperanza, Del Carmen.

Authorities said 31 drums of what is believed to be diesel with an estimated volume of 8,060 liters were confiscated from a Fuel tank truck with license plate CAM5297, after failing to present a legal document or permit.

The operation was conducted by the combined forces of the Del Carmen Municipal Police Station in collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

“We remain vigilant to respond to any situation, especially when
complaints call our attention. May this accomplishment serve as a
pillar of example to others, to stop participating in all forms of
illegalities, unrecognized barters, illegal trades, and unauthorized
dispensing of products.

Regardless of the costs you might lose, or how much you may gain, we will enforce our given mandate as the law provides,” Texon said.
