Recognizing women who drive innovation in beauty and lifestyle industries

In time for Women’s Month, five lovely lady CEOs of beauty and wellness clinics and jewelry shops were among the recipients of the recent Global Trends Business Leaders Awards Year 2. 

Held recently at Okada Manila in Parañaque, the awards recognized leaders who create and sustain entrepreneurial initiatives and carve out powerful businesses in the global economy.

 Anne Barreto, CEO/owner of Hey Pretty Aesthetic Center and Hey Pretty Skin, was awarded the Admired Business Leadership Achievement in Aesthetics and Wellness.  With 16 branches, Barreto’s success story exemplifies how anyone can rise to the top.

The five lady CEOs of beauty and wellness clinics and jewelry shops

China Roces, CEO of Glamoroces Coffee health product, received the Social Media Influencer/Content Creator and Entrepreneur award. Roces’ key to success is the willingness to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes.

Jonah Sison-Ramos, CEO of Dear Face, won Outstanding Business Leadership Achievement in Beauty and Skincare. A woman entrepreneur who has created a name for herself and cultivated her own brand.

Jelly Laurel, CEO of Love of Pearls, received the Woman of Outstanding Business Leadership in Quality Pearl Jewelry.  Laurel leads by example and inspires others to make an impact in her field and community.

Haena Sia-Foo, CEO of Jhaena Jewels, won the Global Excellence Award in Quality Gold and Diamond Jewelry.  With a strong faith in God, Laurel has made people believe in the power of investments.

Country’s bets in global teen pageants named

It’s time for the teenage version of Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, and Teen Model International pageants with the naming of the country’s representatives during a crowning and sashing ceremony, presented by Archipelago Tourism Consultancy, Pro-Fit Universal, and Miss Teen International Philippines.

Brimming with confidence for their global competitions this year are Maria Socorro Luz Aspe, 16, a Grade 11 student at UST Angelicum College, who will compete in Miss Teen Universe in Puerto Rico;  Meredith Breña Anota, 15, a Grade 9 student at Pasay City South High School, for Miss Teen Earth in India; Ancient Trinity Tabora, 19, for Miss Teen World in Ecuador; and Princess Jasmine Estanislao, 18, tourism student at Far Eastern University, to compete in Teen Model International, to be held in Peru.

Environment advocate vies for Miss Ecology International title

 Meleah Moreno is now competing in Miss Ecology International 2023 in Valencia, Carabobo, an industrial city in Venezuela. 

Moreno, 24, an environment and mental health advocate and member of the Rotaract Club of Marilao Primero, is a graduate in Broadcasting and worked as a news reporter at Euro TV Philippines and talent director in New York. 

Miss Ecology International is a new pageant, organized by Portafolios, a leading entertainment company in Venezuela, and has the support of the First Lady of Carabobo state through her ecological project. The finals night is set on March 24.

Pageant to boost local tourism

Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines 2023, which aims to help boost the tourism industry, kicked off with the presentation of its candidates at Winford Manila Resort & Casino. Marie Karen Pallasigue, aka 90s actress Sabrina M, created a buzz among the press and placed third as Darling of the Press, topped by Susan Villanueva of Baguio City, with former Bb. Pilipinas Janina San Miguel, in second place.

Mrs. Face of Tourism Philippines, headed by founder Annie S. Refrea, in partnership with National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (NAITAS), headed by secretary-general Florence Rivera, will have five titles at stake on its May 30 coronation night, namely, Mrs. Face Tourism Philippines, Mrs. Face NAITAS, Mrs. Face Heritage & Culture, Mrs. Face Eco Tourism and Mrs. Face Health & Wellness.

The other candidates are Jean Babon, Pamela Forte, Ghette Legg, Jennifer Bastarriche, Nean Baguioro, Michelle Toledo, Jeanny Canales, Mira Madrigal, Lorna Teaño, Marimel May Ocaña, Jenny Gaviola, Jannith Romantico, Venus Almari, Jesa Mae Baroy, and Rowena Almocera.
