The Philippine Army will host this year’s ASEAN Armies Annual Meet from November 12 to 24.
According to Army Spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala, the sidelines of the meeting will include the 32nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Armies Rifles Meet (AARM) in Capas, Tarlac.
The 2024 ASEAN Armies Annual Meet (AAAM) has the theme: “Strengthening Partnership and Camaraderie towards Regional Stability.”
Ten ASEAN countries are set to participate in the annual shooting competition, which includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.
The AARM features five shooting events: Rifle, Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol (Men), and Pistol (Ladies).
The Philippine Army’s hosting of the AAAM also includes the 25th ASEAN Chief of Armies Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) and the 12th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (ASMAM).
According to Dema-ala, the annual event aims to strengthen solidarity and camaraderie among the ASEAN armies.
