Shopaholics, rejoice! Finally, buyer’s remorse will become a thing of the past since shopping can take them to exciting places.
As Filipinos are clamoring for more opportunities to travel domestically or internationally, Philippine Airlines (PAL), through its enduring frequent flyer program, Mabuhay Miles, partnered with SM Advantage Card (SMAC) to provide their loyal customers with rewards that support their lifestyles.
PAL Mabuhay Miles and SMAC, two of the country’s longest-running customer loyalty programs, recently launched their “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop” program, their newest lifestyle campaign that allows users to maximize their points from both platforms.
Unlike the usual situation, where shoppers and travelers earn points by shopping or traveling alone, the new campaign encourages them to convert their points from Mabuhay Miles to SMAC and vice versa.
“The SM Group has always been true to its purpose of bringing world-class products to the Filipinos. While doing so, SM always tries to provide the best service to its customers, and that includes engaging in rewarding customers,” said Chief Operating Officer of the Digital Advantage Corporation Kevin Hartigan-Go during the partnership signing between the two companies on June 10, Friday, at Conrad Manila in Pasay City.
For several years, SM rewarded their customers through their Advantage Card program with exclusive perks available throughout their more than 4,000 stores across the country. They continue new programs to benefit the Filipino community.
“Philippine Airlines share the same values as we do: serving excellence and a focus on recognizing and rewarding its most valuable customers,” Hartigan-Go added.
Signing the five-year contract between PAL and SM along with Hartigan-Go are PAL President and COO Stanley Ng, PAL Senior Vice President and General Counsel Attorney Carlos Luis D. Fernandez, and Executive Director of the SM Food Retail Group Herson Sy.
In the meantime, Ng considers the partnership between PAL and SMAC innovative, especially since PAL’s Mabuhay Miles persists as a pervasive lifestyle program that taps into favorite Filipino activities, like traveling, shopping, dining, and more.
For the “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop” campaign, every 500 Mabuhay Miles points can be converted to 50 SMAC points, while every 250 SMAC points can be converted to 100 Mabuhay Miles points. Both PAL and SMAC made sure that the point conversion process is easy for their users.
Although customers are encouraged to visit the SMAC website to convert their points since SM developed the app to be user-friendly, PAL offers the same services to customers who’ll visit their ticketing agencies, an ideal option for those who aren’t tech-savvy.
The “Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop” campaign is part of Philippines Airlines’ 81st-anniversary offerings and its commitment to leveraging creativity and innovation in continuously delivering delight to customers and serving as the country’s flag carrier. On the other hand, SMAC continues to evolve and elevate its member benefits and privileges as a way of thanking and rewarding its most loyal customers.
With this new partnership between SMAC and Mabuhay Miles, Filipinos don’t have to choose between their love for shopping and traveling. Instead, they can do both effortlessly and enjoy new items while embarking on new journeys.
