With PAGASA announcement this week stating that the onset of rainy season has started, some farmers in La Trinidad, Benguet were caught off guard as their harvestable and matured lettuce were damaged by days of incessant rains prevailing in the area for the past week. Farmers who did not install protective heavy plastic in their vegetable plots suffered losses as their harvestable crops were rain damaged rendering them low priced classified as 3rd class. Other farmers who did not install heavy plastic protective cover suffered the same crop losses.
