Comelec: Protesters can file charges for ‘cheating’

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) challenged protesting youth and labor groups to file charges against the poll body for alleged “cheating”.

A number of protesters picketed outside the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila, claiming there was massive “cheating” in the presidential elections to favor frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

The groups were reportedly opposed to the looming victory of Marcos Jr. in the presidential race.

Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said the group can file a case before a proper forum so the poll body could respond to the issues raised, saying they are ready to answer their allegations.

“The Comelec is ready to face the proper forum. We are willing and ready should we be subpoenaed. We will submit all our records,” he said.

Wearing black shirts, the group chanted  the names of Robredo and her running-mate Senator Francis Pangilinan, who was also losing to Marcos’ running-mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, in the vice presidential race based on partial, official tally.
