NV mine firm FCF sponsors 9 scholars

Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya—Mine firm FCF Minerals Corp. based here will be sending another batch of nine college students to various universities through a scholarship program.

Ian Moller, FCF Minerals’ general manager for Sustainability, said the new batch of scholars will be pursuing their courses under the firm’s Social Development and Management Program.

“This will be made through consultations with and endorsements from the provincial government and town mayors concerned. The scholars will be taking up courses required under the SDMP scholarship program,” he said in a press conference.

According to Moller, the new batch of scholars will come from Aritao, Quezon, Bayombong, Kasibu and Solano and will be sent to Adamson University in Metro Manila and St. Louis University in Baguio City.

FCF Minerals maintains a partnership agreement with AU and SLU on the scholarship program, among others.

Last year, seven scholars were also sent to AU and SLU to pursue similar courses under the SDMP scholarship program, after they were endorsed by the provincial government and town mayors of Dupax del Norte, Quezon and Bambang.

Another seven scholars will also be sent to the Nueva Vizcaya State University to pursue various courses, Moller said.

“This will be made possible through the Runruno Scholarship Program under the SDMP,” he added.
