Dance and video games merge in benefit concert

In thanksgiving for the widespread acceptance of complimentary classes on the various dance genres, veteran global competitors and champions, the Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company (SBRDC), the internationally lauded resident dance troupe of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), once again gives back through a concert for a cause that delves deep into social issues.

 The Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company stages a charity event that will transport the spectators to a world of wonders, influenced by the exhilarating world of video games, where dance and play meet.

Dubbed Gameplay: A Dance Concert, the much-awaited charity event will transport the spectators to a world of wonders, influenced by exhilarating world of video games, where dance and play meet. The SBRDC will showcase their homegrown talents and varying styles and techniques in ten dance performances that will narrate relevant issues pertaining to identity, relationships, familial bond, corruption, and politics.

The SBRDC was the 3rd runner-up at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2014 in Las Vegas, USA, Silver Medalist at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2015 in San Diego, USA, and first runner-up at the Hip Hop International Philippines 2016 in Manila.

The group has likewise been hailed as the Three-peat National Champion of Hip Hop International Philippines 2014, 2015, and 2016 in Manila, and has received the three-peat Gold Medal Award for the Philippines in the 2018 Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition.

The Heart at Play Foundation, which empowers and improves the lives of persons with special needs by providing free Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) sessions, is the sole beneficiary.

Tickets are priced at P200.

Gameplay: A Dance Concert will be held on July 19 with shows at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the 5th Floor Theater of the College’s School of Design and Arts (SDA) Campus, 950 Pablo Ocampo (Vito Cruz) Street, Malate, Manila.
