DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, Metro Pacific Tollways president and CEO Rodrigo Franco, Cavite 1st District Rep. Alex Advincula and Cavite Gov. Jesus Crispin Remulla led the groundbreaking rites of the Cavite segment of the 45-kilometers Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAEX) at Barangay Alapan-B in Imus, Cavite on Wednesday, March 27. The Cavite segment comprise of 27 kilometers of the 45-kilometer CALAEX which will stretch from Kawit, Cavite and will traverse the Imus Open Canal, Governor’s Drive, Dasmariñas, Aguinaldo Highway and Silang and will connect to the Laguna segment which is comprised of Sta. Rosa exiting Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna towards SLEX. Upon completion in 2022, CALAEX will cut travel time from 2.5 hours to under 45 minutes and could help decongest approximately 50,000 four-wheel vehicles.
