Imagine yourself living in a community inspired by creative minds that put premium on educational and recreational activities, and on creative and visual arts. What about living in a curated village with houses designed by Kenneth Cobonpue or the famous David Salle? What would be your lifestyle like if you were living in the “world’s first livable art park?”
All roads led to Batulao Artscapes on Nov. 24 as Century Properties Group (CPG:PM), through its leisure, tourism and hospitality business unit, celebrates the festive attractions of this 142-hectare property with #RoadTripToBatulao – a weekend of local food, arts and music.
The event is CPG’s follow up to the successful Batulao Bike Trails event last May 2018, which highlighted the property’s active components, including a 7-kilometer bike trail that gathered more than 200 bike enthusiasts. This time, CPG is giving visitors a preview of Batulao Artscapes’ creative and festive components as the World’s First Livable Art Park and artventure community.
“The whole concept here is inspired by many types or forms of arts — from architectural perspective to product perspective. We are really looking at creating a community which is based on inspirations,” Tim Hallet, head of CPG’s leisure, tourism and hospitality division, told Manila Standard.
“We are gong to amenities here related to creative arts, visual arts. We are going to have a museum here. What we are trying to do is to create a destination inspired by people who want to have fun and obviously invest in property,” the executive added.
The whole day artventure affair was highlighted by performances from musical acts Funky Brew, Vee, The Storyteller Project and the award-winning local band Hale. Meanwhile, Sip & Gogh treated weekend groups to painting sessions. Guests witnessed live mural painting by local artists on site and got to bring home calligraphy souvenirs. Attendees were able to enjoy great meals from local food trucks and carts as well as craft beer makers.
“Batulao Artscapes is a unique celebration of active, meditative, creative and festive attractions. It is a development like no other – grounded in natural beauty, shaped by the arts and informed by design. For the first time, you can own a home in an art park, in what would otherwise only be a weekend getaway someplace else,” said Hallett.
In October, CPG announced that it has pre-sold 477 vacation homes worth P2.94 billion within the first 36 hectares of the development, which in total will offer approximately 2,247 homes.
With art as the driving force behind the entire project, Batulao Artscapes features designer homes by Revolution Precrafted with notable Filipino and international names like Ed Calma, Kenneth Cobonpue, Budji Layug and Royal Pineda, Daphne Guiness, and Studio Libeskind Design.
Completing the livable art park concept are vacation amenities. The Active component includes bike and jogging trails, a man-made beach, a sports park and wellness hotel. The Meditative component features a man-made lake for paddle boarding, clubhouse for yoga, spa and other wellness facilities. Festive includes a Flavor Park with fresh food and beverage concepts, and a floating chapel for weddings. The Creative component includes the Art Park with pavilions and a maze, plus four Revolution Museums by Pritzker Prize-winning architects (museums for performing arts, visual arts, art and technology, and design and architecture).
Construction of the first phase is in full swing with the first batch of homes targeted for completion in early 2019. Hedera homes by Kenneth Cobonpue are currently under construction while Polygonal Successions by Ed Calma will start in December.
With only a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Makati, Batulao Artscapes is easily accessible via four points—through Daang Hari Road towards the scenic Nasugbu-Kaybiang Tunnel, the Star Tollway to Tanauan Exit, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).
When the 49-kilometer Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway (CTBEX) is completed in mid-2022, travel time to nearby Tagaytay City will only take less than an hour.
