Representatives from e-Formula, LeiYueh Enterprise, Acer, Everest Display Inc, Sandalphon International, Asus and Aver discussed their brands’ individual technological innovations that could optimize or even enhance the functionalities of homes, facilities and even entire cities.

Executives from Taiwanese technology companies, Department of Energy officials and representatives from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines flash the thumb-up sign during the Smart City Integration Seminar.

“We welcome very much the organization of today’s event —The Smart City and how actually we can all be participating with the technologies and the expertise we will be getting from Taipei. We hope that this would also lead to stronger partnership economically between Philippines and Taipei, most especially in the area of energy,” said Jesus Tamang, director of Energy Utilization and Management Bureau of the Department of Energy.

Leading products in research and development, design, quality and marketing are featured annually in the Taiwan Excellence Awards.

“Smart technology can actually help a lot in improving the energy plan, not only at the national level, but even at the local government units or city level. We also would need to have smart technology to be able to have optimal utilization of energy across the chain, not only for our generation, not only in the vehicles that we see in in the main streets trapped in traffic, but even in the households,” Tamang said.

“The Philippines and especially the Department of Energy has a very big concern to maintain the issues in energy security. Thus, the requirement or the need for us to make sure that we get to optimize any amount of energy that we have. For us to be able to do this, we need to have the participation of the local government units,” Tamang said.

The 16th annual System Integration Philippines Expo has been the country’s leading trade show that introduces new and emerging advancements in technology and is considered as a stepping stone for startups and establishments in unveiling their innovations to the market.
