Preparing kids’ snack for school need not be complicated and time-consuming. Here are three filling baon recipes that are easy to do and require no more than 12 ingredients.
King Sue Pandesal Muffin Pizza
Ingredients:
3 pcs big pandesal
250 grams King Sue Hawaiian Ham
1 pc big tomato
½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
fresh basil
olive oil
Procedure:
1. Remove the top of the bread, take off the bread inside.
2. Put in tomato, King Sue Hawaiian Ham, and cheese.
3. Place in a toaster for a few minutes or until the cheese has melted.
4. Top with basil and drizzle with olive oil
King Sue Pesto and Ham Pinwheel
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup pesto (basil, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic)
3 pcs large flour tortillas (12”)
1 pack King Sue Sweet Ham
Procedure:
1. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese and pesto. Spread the mixture on top of the tortillas.
2. Top cream cheese/pesto mixture with ham.
3. Roll up tortilla tightly and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate.
4. Remove from refrigerator and unwrap. Slice into rounds.
King Sue Sweet Ham Katsudon
Ingredients:
2 pcs King Sue Sweet Ham, sliced half-inch thick
1 cup flour
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 pc large egg, beaten
For the sauce:
1 pc medium white onion, sliced
1 stalk onion leek, thinly sliced
1 tsp brown sugar
5 tbsp soy sauce
¼ cup mirin
1 sachet dashi granules, dissolved in 1 cup water
1 pc egg, slightly beaten
Procedure:
1. Dredge the ham into the flour, dip in egg, dredge in panko breading, then deep-fry till golden brown. Set aside.
2. Simmer in low heat the dashi, mirin, soy sauce, onions, leeks, and brown sugar. When the sauce starts to boil add in the egg.
3. Swirl the pan a bit to cook the egg without breaking it.
4. In a bowl, put steaming rice, slice the ham and put it over the rice.
5. Pour over the sauce and serve.
