PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will leave for a series of foreign trips after the Holy Week, starting with the annual Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan, China from April 9 to 10.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier said Duterte’s visit would further enhance bilateral relations between Manila and Beijing, which he said had reached its “golden era.”
From China, Duterte will proceed to Hong Kong for a meeting with members of the Filipino community before returning to Manila on April 12, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said.
The President will also attend the 42nd Leaders Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations tentatively set from April 26 to 28.
Prior to the trips, Duterte will spend the Holy Week in Davao where he will also mark his 73rd birthday on March 28, Roque said.
“The President usually stays at home during his birthday. But there might be a celebration after his birthday,” Roque said.
