President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed Thursday that he did offer an undersecretary post at the Interior Department to Martin Dino, a political ally who whom he recently unseated as Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority chairman.
“I offered him the undersecretary post, that’s really it because I know he’s already used to it. He was a former barangay captain, so I offered him the post,” the President told state-run broadcaster PTV-4.

Duterte cleared Dino of any fault at the SBMA as he ended the power struggle at the agency by appointing Atty. Wilma Eisma, the incumbent administrator, as the new chair.
