The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte recently joined the Producer to Consumer Trade Show at the Quezon City Hall through the “Pinak Best Products” booth set up by the Small Medium Enterprise Office.
The trade show ran from Aug. 30 to 31, a result of the partnership between Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee R. Marcos and Quezon City Mayor Herbert M. Bautista.
The “Pinak Best Products” Producer-to-Consumer trade has been a monthly activity since January this year, as Marcos and Bautista had signed an agreement on the trade show.
According to Edison Natividad, head of the Provincial Small and Medium Enterprises Office, products were fast-moving in every activity since the opening of the trade show this year.
“The trade show has become a monthly success; many micro entrepreneurs from the province have shown interest in joining the event in Quezon City. Because some of the original entrepreneurs gather their monthly sales in just two days in Quezon City,” Natividad added.
The province is also showcasing inabel hand-made products and authentic Ilocano delicacies such as bagnet, longganisa, miki noodles and Ilocos empanada, boosting both tourism and small and medium-sized enterprises in Ilocos Norte.
In 2015, Marcos assured Ilocanos in her State of the Province Address of the continued support of PGIN to local producers, already proposing to join the trade show in Quezon City.
“Itaguyod ang produktong sinauna… magtinda na tayo sa iba’t-ibang bagsakan, at magbukas tayo ng Ilocos Store sa Quezon City Hall. Siak ti Manang Tindera! Happy to serve!” (Ako ang Manang Tindera!)
