A former chief of police of Binangonan, Rizal has survived an ambush by armed men on Friday morning.
Antipolo City Chief of Police Superintendent Raynold Rosero identified the police official targeted by assailants as Supt. Noel Verzosa.

Verzosa was in a gasoline station in Antipolo City at 7:15 am when the suspects opened fire.
He was hit by a gunshot on the left arm but he was able to dodge most of the bullets.
The former police chief was able to flee from his attackers by rushing to a nearby cathedral where he sought refuge.
Police say, two persons may have been involved in the attempt to kill Verzosa.
