Unso takes gold in HK

PATRICK Unso added another gold while Edgardo Alejan and Clinton Bautista contributed a silver and bronze medal for the Philippines in the 2017 Hong Kong Intercity Athletics Championships.

Unso finished ahead of Chan Chun Wung to earn the gold in 14.02 seconds in the men’s 110-meter hurdles.

Bautista settled for the bronze in 14.2 seconds.

On the other hand, the 31-year-old Alejan first clocked a season’s best of 47.96 seconds in the men’s 400-meter run of this trackfest, which is also known as the  Hong Kong Invitationals.

He registered this time in the heats.

Then he went on to snare the silver in the finals with a time of 47.72 seconds.

Kawamitsu Kenta of Japan claimed the gold in 47.31 seconds.

Meanwhile, Michael del Prado came up with a 48-second performance in the second heat of the 400-meter run.

Then he bagged the bronze at 48.22 seconds in the finals.

Fil-American Trenten Berram had a faster time of 46.99 seconds in the heats.

But he withdrew from the finals to be able to join the national squad in the 4×100 meter relays.
