Public Private Partnership Center executive director Cossette Canilao said Monday she has resigned from her post.
“Yes … effective March 8,” Canilao said in a text message to confirm reports on her resignation.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning from my post due to pressing family concerns,” she said in a letter to President Benigno Aquino III.
Canilao, who has over 20-year experience in the private sector in the field of advisory, investment banking and corporate banking, was appointed as executive director of PPP in 2011.
She recommended that PPP consultant Andre ‘Raj’ Palacios take her place.
The government has awarded 12 projects under the PPP scheme since 2010 but only three have been completed so far, including the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway, Automated Fare Collection System and PPP for School Infrastructure phase one.
Canilao earlier said the PPP Center was targeting to roll out at least two or three projects before the end of the Aquino administration in June 2016.
