DOT names top-rated hotels, resorts in Philippines recommended by Michelin Guide

The Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) has announced that six top-tier Philippine accommodations have been recognized by the Michelin Guide, featuring three luxury hotels in Metro Manila and three high-end island resorts across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Top-rated hotels in Metro Manila

The Peninsula Manila, located in Makati’s financial district, received high guest ratings for its luxurious rooms and amenities, including a spa, outdoor pool, and fine dining options. The Michelin Guide noted its “stylistic flair” that sets it apart from competitors.

Hotel Okura Manila in Pasay City’s Newport World Resorts offers a blend of Japanese and Filipino aesthetics, with 190 spacious rooms. Its restaurants serve a fusion of Japanese, Filipino, and international dishes, alongside a bar with views of the Manila skyline.

Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery, an Art Deco-inspired landmark overlooking Manila Bay, offers 123 rooms with modern comforts, including Bose sound systems. Guests can enjoy views of the iconic sunset from the Admiral Club restaurant.

The Michelin Guide also highlighted Amanpulo in Palawan, an exclusive island resort on Pamalican Island. Designed with traditional Philippine influences, its 60 rooms are set amid pristine beaches and coral reefs, offering an immersive natural escape. 

In Siargao, Nay Palad Hideaway provides a retreat near the island’s surfing capital, Cloud 9. Its 10 private villas come with lush tropical gardens and spaces designed for relaxation. The resort was recently ranked 15th on The Telegraph’s “50 greatest hotels in the world.” 

Cebu’s Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan, known for its seaside views and three-tiered infinity pool, is conveniently located near popular Cebu attractions. It features a private beach, spa facilities, and easy access to Cebu City and surrounding tourist spots.

The DOT has expressed appreciation for the support of the hospitality industry, with Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco highlighting the warmth of Filipino hospitality and the ongoing efforts to elevate service standards through programs like the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Training Program. The agency’s hotline and mobile app provide tourists with further information on Philippine destinations, accommodations, and travel assistance.
