Team Asia delivered a commanding 4-0 sweep over Team Europe on Day 2 of the inaugural Reyes Cup, held at Ninoy Aquino National Stadium on Wednesday night, increasing their overall lead to 7-2.
Coached by the legendary Efren “Bata” Reyes, Team Asia followed up their initial 5-3 victory in Match Six with an outstanding performance, while Team Europe, led by Karl Boyes, struggled to keep up.
In the first singles match, former World Champion Ko Pin Yi edged out Francisco Sanchez Ruiz with a 5-3 win. The momentum continued when the duo of Duong Quoc Hoang and Aloysius Yapp secured a 5-2 victory over Europe’s David Alcaide and Eklent Kaçi.
The day’s final match saw Filipino star Carlo Biado triumph over Mickey Krause, clinching another 5-3 win for Team Asia.
