Hilarious Video Shows Animals in Front of a Mirror for the First Time

The hilarious video capturing the reactions of various animals seeing themselves in the mirror for the first time is causing internet users to burst into laughter!

This behavioral technique, known as the "mirror test," was developed in 1970 by American psychologist Gordon Gallup Jr. as an attempt to determine if an animal possesses the ability of visual self-recognition.

The clip, posted on Instagram, depicts how bears, lions, jaguars, cats, dogs, monkeys, and even a chicken react to their own reflection in a mirror. The video has already amassed over 970 thousand views, along with more than 64 thousand likes and numerous comments from internet users who were amused by the scene.

"The lion was pretty chill. The bear, not so much!" commented an Instagram user. "The immediate reaction when seeing another animal of their species is to fight it," claimed another. "I identify as a bear," jokingly remarked a third.

According to experts, upon seeing their own reflection, most animals assume they are encountering a competitor and may attack the image. According to Professor Daniel J. Povinelli, the animal may perceive the reflection as a strange entity capable of being controlled through its own movements.
