'Gentle Giant' Guinness World Record's Largest Dog Afraid of Family Vacuum Cleaner

Kevin, the Great Dane who clinched the title of 'largest dog in the world' from Guinness, is deathly afraid of the family's vacuum cleaner.

The dog, named after Macaulay Culkin's character in the film 'Home Alone,' measures 0.97m from paw to withers (the ridge between the shoulder blades), but towers over 2m tall when standing on his hind legs.

Three-year-old Kevin resides in West Des Moines, Iowa, with three other dogs, including a small pug, and four cats. Despite his size, his owner attests that he is a "gentle giant" who loves nothing more than to curl up on his family's lap.

Moreover, she disclosed that Kevin is terrified of the vacuum cleaner in their home. "He does not let that thing get within two meters of him. He will jump and run to get away," Tracy Wolfe told Guinness World Records.

"He has always been very gentle with the other smaller dogs," Tracy added, noting that he also gets along “well” with the family's cats. "He occasionally tries to chase them, but if he catches them, he just licks them."

Kevin falls slightly shorter than the tallest dog ever recorded by Guinness World Records. Zeus, another Great Dane, measured 1.118m and passed away in 2014 at the age of five.
