Typhoons ‘Nika,’ ‘Ofel,’ and ‘Pepito’ affected 1.8 million people nationwide, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDDRMC) reported on Tuesday.
In its latest situation report, the disaster agency indicated that 453,809 individuals remain in evacuation centers, while 163,527 are staying elsewhere.
Additionally, twenty-five people have reportedly been injured due to the three tropical cyclones.
The cyclones have caused damage amounting to P469 million to infrastructure and P8.6 million to agriculture.
They have also partially damaged 10,234 houses and completely destroyed 1,525 homes across five regions.
As of now, fifty roads and twenty-four bridges are still impassable.
Classes in 694 cities and municipalities have been disrupted, and work has been suspended in 442 cities and municipalities due to the storms.
The NDRRMC stated that P54 million worth of assistance has been provided to affected families.
A landslide in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya, amid the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Pepito resulted in the deaths of seven people, including an 8-year-old child.
In the aftermath of the tropical cyclones, twenty cities and municipalities in Luzon have declared a state of calamity.
Eleven areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were placed under a state of calamity, followed by Cagayan Valley with eight areas affected, and Central Luzon with one.
