Cebu Pacific restores international flights from Iloilo

ILOILO — Cebu Pacific restored its international flights from Iloilo, marking the first overseas connection for the airport since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the evening of October 27, a special ceremony at Iloilo Airport was held to celebrate the inaugural flight’s take off to Hong Kong, complete with a water cannon salute symbolizing the long-awaited resumption of the Iloilo-Hong Kong service.

According to the Department of Tourism (DOT) Western Visayas, Cebu Pacific will operate flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Iloilo representative Art Pareño also confirmed that, before the end of 2024, Cebu Pacific plans to resume its Iloilo-Singapore route.

This return to international connectivity is expected to expand further, as additional direct flights to Singapore are scheduled for November.

The airline also plans to increase domestic connections with new direct flights from Iloilo starting in December.

Cebu Pacific Director for Corporate Communications Carmina Reyes Romero announced the following schedules:

• Iloilo-Tagbilaran (Bohol): Daily flights beginning December 1.

• Iloilo-Daraga (Legazpi): Three weekly flights starting December 2.

• Iloilo-Dumaguete: Three weekly flights beginning December 3.

With these additions, Cebu Pacific will serve 14 destinations from Iloilo, including the two international routes to Hong Kong and Singapore.

The revival of these routes marks a significant milestone for Iloilo’s connectivity, as Cebu Pacific works to rebuild its network in response to growing travel demand.
