Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on Thursday, indicating his intention to run for mayor of Caloocan.
Trillanes, a homegrown resident of the city, will face off against incumbent Caloocan Mayor Along Malapitan.

“The next several months will be quite intense as we try to dismantle a corrupt political dynasty that’s determined to hold on to Caloocan,” Trillanes posted on X.
“This bid will be a new challenge for me in life as a public servant. However, this is now the appropriate and timely moment,” he later wrote.
Trillanes served as senator from 2007 to 2019 under Partido Magdalo.
