THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) led the 35th meeting of the Asia Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group held at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand.
The three-day event which started Monday brought together 163 delegates from 26 member states, two administrative regions, and six international organizations. This was deemed an important step toward achieving safer air travel in the Asia-Pacific region.
In his closing address, CAAP director general Manuel Antonio Tamayo highlighted the meeting’s role in improving aviation safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the region.
“Our meeting this week ensured that civil aviation in the APAC remains efficient, interconnected, and safe—with minimized boundaries and maximized collaboration, fostering a more integrated air navigation system for everyone,” he said.
