Detained megachurch leader Apollo Quiboloy will be transferred to the Pasig City jail after a regional trial court (RTC) handling his case released the order on Wednesday, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP spokesperson and Public Information Office chief, Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing that they would execute the transfer order and move Quiboloy, who was held under police custody.
“Pursuant to the order issued by the RTC Pasig, today, November 27, by 4:00 p.m., we expect that we will be transferring the custody of Apollo Quiboloy to Pasig City jail,” Fajardo told reporters.
Quiboloy is currently staying at the Philippine Heart Center due to his approved extended medical furlough. The religious leader faces a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4 (a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before the Pasig RTC.
