A strong earthquake measured at magnitude-4.5 shook Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental at 3:18 AM on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Based on its latest information bulletin, Phivolcs traced the epicenter of the quake at 4.30 degrees north 126.21 degrees east – 150 km south 35 degrees east of the island at a depth of 17 kms.

There were no reported intensities listed on Phivolcs’ earthquake bulletin.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks are expected from this seismic activity and damage is unlikely.
