Two Filipino-American siblings were among four people killed in a shooting incident inside a residential house on North Tabler Avenue, Lancaster, California early Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified three of the victims as Christine Asa-Ca, 26; Janvi Maquindang, 21; and Edwin Garcia, 24. A fourth victim, later revealed as Maquindang’s partner, Matthew Montebello, succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Reports from CBS News confirmed that the incident took place at around 1:30 a.m. and claimed the lives of Asa-Ca and her fiancé Garcia alongside her brother, Maquindang.
Firefighters arrived shortly after police responded to reports of the shooting. A fire had broken out at the home but was successfully extinguished by 2:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Authorities have yet to confirm the motive for the attack, and no arrests have been made as of this writing.
