The Philippine Army (PA) received the Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Foundation’s “Life Saver Award” on Monday in honor of modern-day hero blood donors at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
According to Army Spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala, Army soldiers, reservists, and ROTC cadets collectively donated a record-breaking 25,538 blood bags during the 2nd PA-Wide Blood Donation Drive.
This event took place at key Army camps, Regional Community Defense Groups, and Community Defense Centers on August 25, 2024.
Partner hospitals and foundations received a total of 50,775 blood bags collected during the back-to-back PA-wide blood donation drives this year.
This total includes the 25,237 blood bags collected during the 1st PA-Wide Blood Donation Drive, which was conducted during the Army’s 127th Founding Anniversary Celebration in March 2024.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido accepted the Certificate of Recognition and Life Saver Award from officials of the Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Foundation.
“Together, through our dedication and shared vision, we can achieve impactful results and strive toward even greater causes to uplift our people and our nation as we build the Bagong Pilipinas,” remarked the Army Chief.
