Former senator Leila de Lima is testifying today, October 22, 202, at the resumption of the House Quad Committee investigation into the war on drugs waged by former President Rodrigo Duterte during his administration.
De Lima, who endured seven years of political persecution on trumped up charges under Duterte, leads the list of key personalities invited in the ninth session of the joint congressional probe, according to the committee secretariat.
Also present is police lieutenant colonel Kenneth Paul Albotra, who was implicated by former police officer and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Royina Garma in the 2018 assassination of Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili.
Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Manuel Mogato was likewise invited in the hearing. Mogato was part of the Reuters investigative journalism team, who reported on the drug war of the former president. They received the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting.
