Former Civil Service Commission chairman Karlo Nograles praised the appointment of his successor, Marilyn Baura Yap, saying the CSC is in good hands.
Nograles resigned from his post as CSC chairman to run for Mayor in Davao City in the 2025 midterm elections.
He said he has worked with Yap in the past, describing her as a good choice to lead the commission.
“I have had the privilege of working with the newly appointed Civil Service Commission Chair Marilyn Baura Yap during her time as Secretary General of the House of Representatives.”
“I know that she is extremely competent and has an excellent work ethic, a steady hand amid turbulent waters and most of All a strong desire to serve the Filipino people,” Nograles said on his Facebook account.
He added he is confident the newly appointed chairman will improve the gains of CSC.
“I am confident that Chairperson Yap will improve the gains that the Commission was able to attain during my time. The CSC and the whole bureaucracy is in good hands,” he said.
Yap was appointed by President Marcos on Oct. 16 as the CSC’s ad interim chairperson, with a term expiring in 2029.
