President Ferdinand Marcos thanked Israeli President Isaac Herzog during a phone call for ensuring the safety and well-being of Filipinos living and working in the country, particularly during times of crisis.
“We wish to express our gratitude to Israel for the care and support extended to Filipinos working and living in your country,” President Marcos said in a social media post.
“Israel’s swift assistance in ensuring their safety, especially during these challenging times, means a great deal to us,” he added.
Mr. Marcos emphasized the strong bilateral ties between the Philippines and Israel, describing their relationship as one that has stood the test of time. He pointed out that the two nations’ friendship began even before the establishment of the Israeli state.
“Israel remains one of our trusted bilateral partners in the Middle East region, with a historic friendship that predates the establishment of the Israeli state,” the chief executive said.
He expressed optimism for peace in the region and reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to fostering strong relations with Israel.
“We remain hopeful for a swift path to peace, and together, may we continue to build on the strong bonds between our nations,” President Marcos added.
